Osten United – united in solidarity!
Before the state elections: together for social justice
With its reform package — better called a poverty package — the federal government is pushing social cutbacks further. Not in a vacuum, but at a time when far too much is already being cut from municipalities and from the health and education systems.
At a time when antisocial politics contributes to the rise of sensationalist political forces. For us — local initiatives from Halberstadt — and for supporters from several places in eastern Germany, one thing is clear: we continue to stand together for social justice and against fascism! Especially now, before the state elections with their sometimes intimidating polls, we want to show:
There are so many wonderful and steadfast people and groups in eastern Germany! We want to come together and show everyone — and ourselves — that we are here, we are loud, and we stand in solidarity with one another: Osten United!
On 29 August 2026 we will take to the streets in Halberstadt and afterwards celebrate at the Zora!
Here you will find the poster with all the details: the demonstration starts at 2 pm at the railway station, the after-show party with Hinterlandgang and L-Sura begins at 5 pm. As at every Kohäsion Ost event there will be a shuttle to bring people home, food for everyone, awareness support and simply a good time.
Bus journeys from Leipzig and Berlin are being planned. Write to us at kohaesionost@proton.me or via Instagram (@kohaesion.ost).
We are glad about every person who comes!
