On 22 September 2022 at 7 pm the opening event of the DOCS ON TOUR project takes place at the ZORA socio-cultural centre. The partner organisations DocFilm42 (Berlin), the Erich Zeigner Haus (Leipzig) and filmokratie (Berlin) have put together three documentary film series which they are sending on tour across Germany from autumn 2022.
On 22 September 2022 the film “Dancing alone” by Biene Pilavci will be shown at our centre. In her autobiographical film the director presents the life of her family, which during her childhood was often marked by violence from her parents. She explores the question of how far the hatred between her parents and the frequent outbursts of violence influenced her and her four siblings in their lives, and whether this had consequences for family cohesion.
After the screening there will be a discussion with the filmmaker.
On the occasion of World Children’s Day this month we want to raise awareness among our audience (professionals and interested members of the public) of the subject of domestic violence within the family. We warmly invite you to take part in our event.
