On 4 June they will play here as part of their tremendous AJZ tour, which takes them through many autonomous youth centres, youth clubs and socio-cultural centres in eastern Germany that have been working for years against old and new Nazis and for a better, fairer and more peaceful world.
BEATSTEAKS: “Given current political developments, the rise of parties from the far-right spectrum and the growing racism in our society, we want to combine the pleasant with the useful: play concerts, which is our favourite occupation — and at the same time support those who face strong headwinds, who are under attack and who resist: the AJZs. And primarily where the parties in question are strongest and where life therefore threatens to become most unpleasant. The Rote Flora may not be missing from the list, but because of the upcoming elections the focus is on east German AJZs. We hope for imitators and that something will grow from this: solidarity!
