As part of the Intercultural Week we are opening the exhibition “Border experiences – how Europe arms itself against those seeking protection” on Refugee Day.
The support association PRO ASYL e.V. has developed a new poster exhibition together with Pax Christi and the Protestant Working Group for Conscientious Objection and Peace. On 16 individual posters it shows how, in European Union policy, the externalisation of refugees, the sealing off of the external borders and military and geopolitical interests are intertwined. This is disastrous above all for people seeking protection whose right to asylum founders on a restrictive policy. Seventy years ago the Geneva Refugee Convention came into force — it is high time to defend the universal validity of refugee and human rights together.
– Speeches including by Robert Fietzke (Refugee Council of Saxony-Anhalt)
